Breezy Simplicity

Jennie Pegouskie keeps it casual.

WHO Jennie Pegouskie, the 28-year-old performer, model and entrepreneur who works frequently both on screen and behind the scenes in music video production. Pegouskie hails from upstate New York and grew up in a military family that moved frequently. After the family finally landed at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, she made her way to Seattle to study and work. As a dancer, she’s toured more than 30 countries with Macklemore & Ryan Lewis (with performances on The Ellen Show, Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel) and is featured in the music videos for Macklemore’s “Downtown” and Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You.”

THE LOOK “Tomboy-chic. Casual and breezy like I didn’t try—but I probably spent way too much time getting ready. I’m probably best known for my more classic and clean outfits. I’m all about simplicity: Jogger slacks, basic tees and slouch sweaters. These easily convert from business casual when paired with a Chelsea boot or sneaker to a more elegant look once you throw on a pair of ankle-strap heels.”

ICONS “I’m an admirer of so many, from Alexa Chung—for her bold choices and ability to make any outfit modish—to Solange for her unique eye for art and its ever-present place in our daily lives. I’m constantly drawing or thinking on what I want to draw next. Steve Huston is one of my favorite artists to learn from, for his distinctive techniques, approach and thought process when it comes to drawing and rendering.”

UP NEXT Pegouskie admits to being “agonizingly secretive and private” when it comes to projects in the pipeline but hints that her latest endeavors include starting her own production company from the ground up.
