Traces of History

“Many people would say my family was not notable, their story not rich—maybe not worth being told,” says artist, poet and educator Storme Webber, whose solo exhibition Casino: A Palimpsest sheds light on the stories of her Sugpiaq, Black and Choctaw background. “But they enriched the culture by their presence.” Here Webber gives a preview of the show on Aug. 10. Casino: A Palimpsest is on view at Frye Art Museum through Oct. 29.
