Tacoma's Art Door Auction

What is the first impression of any home or room before even entering the space? A door of course. It can speak volumes of what lies within. Why not then acquire a door that says more than just "knock-knock", "welcome and come in", or maybe even the opposite, "beat it buster"? Let your competitive, inner imp loose at Tacoma's Art Door Auction at the Speakeasy Arts Co-op on December 2nd at 7pm.

Going into their third consecutive year, this year's art door auction will feature seventeen doors adorned by some of Tacoma's local artist. An intricate hand sculpted and mirrored goddess-like door, abstract art, landscape pieces and even a car door lamp (above) are some of the varieties of mediums and styles of work featured, meaning there's a door for all flavors of life. Who's to say one needs to be conventional in their art door display? Tickets for the event are $10 for general admission or $25 for VIP access, which includes seating in the Speakeasy Arts Co-ops comfy lounge area and drink tickets.

Proceeds from the auction will be split between the participating artists and both Speakeasy Arts Co-op and Tacoma Art Place. Both organizations are in need of support to maintain being the little engines that could of our creative community.
