Rooting For Tacoma Art Place

In December's issue, I spoke with founder Linda Danforth about obstacles Tacoma Art Place has met as a non-profit organization. Lack of funds, members and volunteers due, ironically, to the idea that TAP is doing so well and not in a dire position, which could close the artist's and instructional space.
Fortunately, Danforth said recent activity has been excellent.
"Even people who've known about Tacoma Art Place from the start seemed really moved by the article, gently being reminded that we can't take things for granted."
Donations subsequently have risen, as have offers to volunteer. Let's hope that this gentle nudge is enough to keep the community involved.
