Fremont Place Books is the latest independent book store slated to close its doors, Fremont Universe reported yesterday, with owner Henry Burton citing slow sales as the reason for the shop's closure. The neighborhood mainstay's last day is February 27th, and the announcement comes on the heels of Twice Sold Tales' plans to close its University District store at the end of March. (Twice Sold Tales' space will house a Chase Bank, relocated to make way for a Sound Transit station.) We can only hope there's a cinematic love story that'll come out of this.
