How would you describe your personal style in three words?
Erik Hall: Meat. Potatoes. Truffles.
What do you value most in your wardrobe right now?
E.H.: An eight-year-old pair of Frye Harness boots that I have resoled twice.
Amy Spassov: My maroon suede heels. They make me feel good and spice up any outfit.
What is your most recent fashion purchase?
E.H.: White Stan Smith throwback sneakers.
A.S.: A classic black button-up raincoat.
Do you have any style icons?
E.H.: Benicio Del Toro in Snatch...awesome!
A.S.: I adore my grandmothers’ accessories and have a few of their pieces that I wear often. I also admire Sarah Jessica Parker’s confidence and wouldn’t mind living in her closet.
What is the most daring item of clothing you own?
E.H.: Rock & Republic light-camel wingtips.
A.S.: A three-dollar bright orange coat I scored at Goodwill years ago. I’ve never worn it, but I like to look at it.
What golden rules about style did your parents pass on to you?
E.H.: My father said to stand up straight. It makes almost anything look better.
Who works in your style “pit crew”?
E.H.: April at SEVEN salon in Bellevue (who also does Amy’s hair) keeps me from looking like Spicoli. Nordstrom makes sure the clothes fit. The rest is up to us.
What is on your holiday wish list? Consider this an opportunity to hint to family and friends.
E.H.: I have most everything I want, but it would be great if each person who reads this would donate to Hopelink (hope-link.org).
A.S.: I don’t want a dang thing besides time with family and friends!
What they’re wearing: (Erik) Etnia Barcelona glasses, Banana Republic pants, J.Crew sweater, Thomas Dean shirt and shoes from Rock & Republic; (Amy) Shirt by Cirana from a boutique on First Ave. in Belltown, a skirt her mother gave her from Target, boots from Nordstrom by Miz Mooz and a silver 1920s necklace “passed down from my Nana.”
