The bad news is that, if you didn't get your tickets right away, you've already missed out on seeing Macklemore and Ryan Lewis headline Showbox at the Market for the first time ever. And that is too bad, because judging by how quickly the show sold out, it is going to be a high-energy affair.
Showbox's Chad Queirolo reports that more than seven hundred tickets sold on the first day. Those kind of sales numbers for the 1100-capacity venue are kind of insane -- especially considering where Macklemore was a little over a year ago -- and they put the exclamation point on this sentence: "Macklemore owned 2010!"
Late last week the folks at the Showbox, wisely, added a second show, slated for March 5. That show, says Queirolo, has been selling at a near-identical pace, with two-third of tickets moving in the first twenty-four hours.
Seems that this pair of shows is shaping up to be the local concert event of the season. If you want to see Macklemore and Ryan Lewis headline Showbox at the Market for the second time ever, you better snap up the last of those tickets.
UPDATE: Too late. From Showbox's Chad Queirolo: "48 hour sellout. What the fuck. This is amazing."
