Bumbershoot 2011 in Photos

Another Bumbershoot weekend has finally passed.  As usual, there were the expected, the unexpected, the highly anticipated, and the most talked about.  With so much going on, we did our best to capture them all.

1. Hall and Oates were easily the weekend's most anticipated and tweeted-about performance.

2. More than just another white rapper: Astronautalis performed Saturday and hosted his "Why This? Why That? Why Now" talks all three days of the festival.

3. Charles Bradley just put out his first album at the age of 62 and had more energy and stage presence than half of the bands at Bumbershoot this year.

4. Dancers with the Trey McIntyre Project perform Saturday at the Bagley Wright Theatre

5. A clarinet player with Orkestar Zirkonium wanders the festival grounds gathering followers along the way.

6. It was rumored that the food stand selling the brick of curly fries was more heavily attended throughout the weekend than the Macklemore show in Key Arena

7. Pickwick was most likely the only band that had a line of 200 people waiting to enter the at-capacity venue while they performed.

8. "Band With The Most Energy" Award for Saturday unquestionably goes to YACHT.

9. Big Boi brought plenty of the old Outkast favorites with him all the way from Atlanta.

10. Brite Futures lit up the main stage on Saturday using high energy and (almost) high fashion.

11. Mavis Staples brought church to Bumbershoot and made it cool to be there.

12. This guy only needed 27 seconds and a pair of American flag tights to release himself from a straight jacket.

13. Phantogram ended the weekend with a light show perfectly synchronized to Sarah Barthel's incredible voice reaching across the festival grounds.

14. With only two band members, My Goodness proved that less is best when it comes to the bands who performed at the Exhibition Hall Stage.

15. Noelle Scaggs of Fitz and the Tantrums shows some tambourine love to the main stage crowd.

16. While not as breath-taking as a sunset at the Gorge during Sasquatch, the Space Needle is the perfect backdrop to Bumbershoot.
